Ames High School and Bound are partnering to host the Second Annual Tamin Lipsey Basketball Camp. 

​

GRADES 3-12

Saturday, August 10

9 a.m. to Noon

​

The camp will be hosted in the Harrison Barnes Gymnasium at Ames High School and campers will be treated to interaction and instruction with former Iowa Gatorade Player of the Year and current Iowa State point guard Tamin Lipsey and the staff of the 2022 State Champion Ames High boys basketball staff. Additionally, campers will receive a camp t-shirt a signed Tamin Lipsey photo and have a chance to take a picture with Tamin. REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 200 CAMPERS TO SIGN UP so don't delay!

About Tamin Lipsey

Among the most decorated players in the historic Ames High boys basketball program, Tamin Lipsey is currently playing for the Iowa State Cyclones. He has returned to his alma mater to host a camp focused on skill-building and fun.

Started all 36 games he appeared in, missing the victory at No. 19 TCU with an injury ... averaged 12.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game ... shot 42.8 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from deep, while shooting 70.5 percent at the free throw line ... notched the seventh triple-double in school history at DePaul with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists ... had his second career double-double against No. 12 Texas A&M with 10 points and a career-high 14 rebounds ... scored a career-high 22 points in a win over VCU ... scored in double figures in 26 games, with ISU going 22-4 in those games ... had five or more assists in 20 games, as Iowa State went 18-2 in those games ... broke the school record with eight steals against Prairie View ... his 176 assists this season were the 13th most in school history and the second-most by a sophomore ... ended sophomore season with 322 career assists, ranking 14th in program history ... his 2.08 assists per game in his career ranks sixth in school history ... tallied 96 steals this year, the second most in program history and just the second player with 80 or more in a season ... his 96 steals were the most by a sophomore in program history ... has 169 career steals after two years, tied for the ninth most in program history ... broke the school record for steals per game in a season with 2.67 ... led the Big 12 in steals while ranking fourth in the nation ... his 16 assists in the Big 12 Tournament were the second-most in program history, while his 15 assists in the NCAA Tournament were the seventh-most in a single tournament in school history ... ranked fifth in the Big 12 and 67th in the nation in Assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.38 ... ranked fourth in the Big 12 and 38th in the country with 176 assists, while his 4.9 assists per game ranked fifth in the league and 58th nationally ...

One of two Cyclones to start all 33 games this season ... led the Cyclones with 146 assists and 73 steals ... his 73 steals are the most by a Cyclone freshman and the third-most in ISU history in a single-season, along with the fourth-most by a freshman in Big 12 history ... His 146 assists are the second-most by a Cyclone freshman and the ninth-most by a Big 12 freshman ... ranked 87th in the nation in total assists and assists per game (4.4) ... ranked 14th in the nation in steals and 20th in steals per game (2.21) ... fifth on the team in scoring at 7.3 points per game ... third on the team in rebounds per game at 4.0 ... third on the team in free throw percentage at 75.9 percent (44-of-58) ... scored a season-high 16 points at West Virginia ... In his Big 12 Championship debut, he had 13 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and five steals in a victory over Baylor ... became just the 11th player in Big 12 history with 10 assists, nine points and eight rebounds in ISU's victory over No. 8 Kansas ... one of two players in the country, and just the ninth in the last 10 years in NCAA Division I men's basketball, to average at least 7.3 points, 4.4 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 2.45 or fewer turnovers.

Prepped at Ames High School … Named Iowa Mr. Basketball by the Iowa Print Sportswriters Association and Gatorade Player of the Year during his senior year … Tallied a triple-double with 11 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in the 2022 Iowa State Championship game, as the Little Cyclones beat Johnston … Averaged 16.3 points, 5.3 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game while shooting 53.4 percent during his high school career … Finished high school career with 1,046 points and 340 assists despite missing sophomore season with an injury … Won a gold medal with USA Basketball at the 2019 FIBA Americas U16 Championship … Averaged 6.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.7 steals as the United States went 6-0 to win the gold medal in Brazil … A three-star prospect by 247Sports and Rivals, Lipsey ranked 186th in the country and the No. 30 point guard by 247Sports … Chose Iowa State over Minnesota and Nebraska.

AClub Camps & Clinics

We regularly host camps and clinics for boys and girls to foster skill development, teamwork and pride in the Ames High School basketball program. The camps are designed for players in first through eighth grade and teach the fundamentals of basketball.
